Meet Our Team

All our staff pride themselves on being passionate about animals and their profession. We all complete CPD (continual professional development) to stay up to date with the most recent veterinary advances. We all enjoy bringing these new skills and information to our little clinic on the beautiful fleurieu peninsula.

Dr Marcus Stafford

Veterinarian (BSc BVMS GPCert(SAP))

Dr Marcus Stafford is generally working Mondays to Thursdays

Dr Marcus Stafford hails from SA originally. After graduating from Murdoch University, Perth WA in 1998, he worked extensively throughout Australia and the UK for 6 years in a variety of positions. While in the UK he undertook post graduate training and gained his European Certificate in Medicine & Surgery in London. His veterinary interests include Geriatric medicine (he thoroughly enjoys ensuring our older pets enjoy their 'twilight years'), Oncology and Orthopaedic surgery. Outside of work (when time and wife allow!) he enjoys 4WDriving, camping, tinkering with machinary and running his small sheep farm with wife Jodie their two children.

Dr Jodie Spence

Dr Jodie Spence was born and bred in WA, graduating from Murdoch University in 1998. After working in Northern WA, she moved to the UK and worked there for 6 years in a variety of first and second opinion practice. She too completed her post graduate certificate in general practice in London with Marcus. Having worked throughout Australia, she now calls the Fleurieu Peninsula home. Her veterinary interests are geriatric health, neurology and all things medicine. Outside of work she is kept busy with her and Marcus's two children and their small sheep farm.

Vanessa Nutt

Veterinary Nurse (Cert IV VN)

Our Vanessa is a local lass through and through. She holds her Cert IV in veterinary nursing. She is always so calm and tranquil (what you need on a busy day at the clinic!). Vanessa has a passion for all things Cats, surgical nursing and general patient care. Outside of work she is very busy with a young family, a 17 year old cat, Macey and a turtle. Something we only recently discovered about our Vanessa - she is gun shot (make sure she is on your team if you ever take her paintballing!).

Zoe Hyde

Veterinary Nurse (Cert II AS, Cert IV VN, Puppy PreSchool Coordinator)

Zoe is a Cert IV Qualified Veterinary Nurse and also our Puppy PreSchool Instructor. Zoe has a keen interest in surgical nursing, dental nursing and animal behaviour and mental illness.  Zoe is surrounded at home by a cheeky little Maltese X Shih Tzu, Diaz,  a super clever Guinea Pig named Ollie and a mixed bag of numerous feathered friends including Robbie the Galah! Believe it or not Zoe actually has a certificate in elephant handling (not sure how many elephants we will see at Yankalilla BUT you never know!). Outside of work, Zoe enjoys travelling, spending time at the beach, reading, writing and hiking!

Bianca Talbot

Veterinary Nurse (Cert IV VN)

Bianca is one of our qualified and very experienced Veterinary Nurses; she has a background working clinically with small animals, however also with large animals on remote stations and as a stable hand! Bianca is great at jumping into any role needed at the clinic and is brilliant at wearing many different "nursing hats" so to speak! Bianca particularly enjoys surgical nursing and consulting. When time permits outside of work, Bianca enjoys travelling (she has just arrived home from a jam-packed trip from the United States!), horse riding and camping. Her fur babies include 5 year old "Rodney", a very cheeky Staffy Mix, and "Django" who is a gorgeous Domesitc Longhair.
