All our staff pride themselves on being passionate about animals and their profession. We all complete CPD (continual professional development) to stay up to date with the most recent veterinary advances. We all enjoy bringing these new skills and information to our little clinic on the beautiful fleurieu peninsula.

Dr Marcus Stafford

Veterinarian (BSc BVMS GPCert(SAP))

Dr Marcus Stafford hails from SA originally. After graduating from Murdoch University, Perth WA in 1998, he worked extensively throughout Australia and the UK for 6 years in a variety of positions. While in the UK he undertook post graduate training and gained his European Certificate in Medicine & Surgery in London. His veterinary interests include Geriatric medicine (he thoroughly enjoys ensuring our older pets enjoy their 'twilight years'), Oncology and Orthopaedic surgery. Outside of work (when time and wife allow!) he enjoys 4WDriving, camping, tinkering with machinary and running his small sheep farm with wife Jodie their three children.

Dr Jodie Spence

Dr Jodie Spence was born and bred in WA, graduating from Murdoch University in 1998. After working in Northern WA, she moved to the UK and worked there for 6 years in a variety of first and second opinion practice. She too completed her post graduate certificate in general practice in London with Marcus. Having worked throughout Australia, she now calls the Fleurieu Peninsula home. Her veterinary interests are geriatric health, neurology and all things medicine. Outside of work she is kept busy with her and Marcus's three children and their small sheep farm.

Vanessa Nutt

Veterinary Nurse (Cert IV VN)

Our Vanessa is a local lass through and through. She holds her Cert IV in veterinary nursing. She is always so calm and tranquil (what you need on a busy day at the clinic!). Vanessa has a passion for all things Cats, surgical nursing and general patient care. Outside of work she is very busy with a young family, a 17 year old cat, Macey and a turtle. Something we only recently discovered about our Vanessa - she is gun shot (make sure she is on your team if you ever take her paintballing!).

Sonya Goodwin

Veterinary Nurse (Cert IV VN)

Sonya has decades of nursing experience behind her, from small clinics to larger hospitals. She started in the profession at 18 years and has built up a wealth of knowledge & experience. She completed her veterinary nursing diploma in 1990 (that's a mere 30 something years we worked out!) , no judgement here thanks! Ha Ha. She is a local lass and is thoroughly enjoying living on our beautiful fleurieu peninsula.

She has an array of pets at home: Ollie the wonder dog, Jingle the cheeky cat, Tibbles the VERY well behaved goat with rather large horns & Deo the snake (her daughters - he is quite the sweetie we are told!)... we will just leave that there.

We welcome Sonya to our little practice. She is absolutely loving the personal approach to veterinary practice and if ask her why she is a veterinary nurse she will tell you its because she loves animals - which is very apparent in her care for all things furred, scaled or feathered!

Erica joins us from a long career of various reception positions including veterinary & dentistry.  She previously worked with Dr Jodie Spence a decade ago (or longer!). She has already welcomed many of our clients she has previously met around the traps!  She spends her downtime volunteering and doing an array of crafts! She is a welcome bubbly addition to our team. At home she is a servant to two very cheeky cats!
